Dear Infrastructure and Sustainability team,

It has been nine months since Transportation Services became part of the Infrastructure and Sustainability organization. Our team has been making great progress analyzing our own services and looking for ways to make transportation better and more efficient for our students, faculty and staff. The synergy of having Transportation Services co-located in the same organization as our Sustainability office has reaped early rewards.

Thanks to the perseverance of our Transportation Services crew, the Transit app has been in soft launch the past couple of weeks and will be announced to the campus soon. This new app will replace ETA Spot. The Transit app is is already being used to track RTD buses, the Hop and more. Our Transportation Expo, a collaborative effort led by our Sustainability office and the Environmental Center, is set for Wednesday, April 3 (more details below), and will showcase the wide variety of transportation options available and on the horizon.

We’ve also been working to explore partnerships and seek funding opportunities for new programs. Thanks to support from the Clean Cities Coalition Network and the Colorado Energy Office, we are conducting a fleet analysis for É«ÊÓƵÏÂÔØ that explores electric vehicles and other efficiency options for our campus fleet. We’ve just begun a partnership with the City of Boulder to explore collaborative transportation solutions. This includes researching funding options (grants, etc.) to support new modes of transportation and policies to increase service and efficiency for university and city community members, in particular underserved citizens.

All of this is happening amid the backdrop of our Transportation Master Plan (TMP) process that kicked off early this year. Transportation is a priority for us that will affect the entire campus and can help define both our campus and our community. As we begin to delve deep into our TMP it is exciting to think about the possibilities and recognize the great work already being done. Thank you for all you do.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?
Enjoying the beautiful outdoors, hiking, music of all kinds, cycling, and cooking.

Tell us something that might surprise us about you.
I'm a foodie! I make my own hummus, granola, and salsa. I enjoy food presentation. 

What do you love about É«ÊÓƵÏÂÔØ?
It is such a beautiful campus and I feel fortunate to work with like-minded people.

What is your life philosophy?
I never lose hope in humanity. I'm a fan of the power of attitude. As said by Phyllis Diller, "A smile is a curve that sets everything straight." Life is not a dress rehearsal; please be responsible for what you do and say.
